I don’t know about Windows but all of mine start with file:///. It should be the case of search and replace to alter the first part of the path in each reference. using your favourite text editor, you will need to alter all of the file path references.I haven’t done this in a couple of Plex updates but I have used these steps successfully more than once in the past. I have done this on Fedora 34,35, and 36 and it works.

I just dont know if the iTunes plugin is supposed to be installed on a generic install, or if ticking 'Enable iTunes plugin' is supposed to prompt a download of the plugin, or make just make it available on the server. I think for this to work, iTunes must show within the plugins tab.Īnd yes i have tried restarting plex server many times and have rebooted my machine a number of times. Only my dummy server shows the iTunes plugin listed under settings>server>manage>plugins. Start plex up again and while the plugin is enabled in settings, it doesnt show under settings>server>manage>plugins. Open server, enable plugin and set xml path, save and close application (im on windows). On the two that are misbehaving, I take it you enabled the iTunes plugin in settings : server : settings : plugins and added the XML file too, just as you did on the working copy.

Is there anyone that has done this recently that has any pointers on how to get this to work? I have tried putting the xml file the same directory as my music, editing the xml file to point to the correct source locations etc. Plex has an 'import from iTunes' feature but i cannot get this to work, and looking at previous forum posts, it seems i am not alone. I have been using iTunes for probably 15 years at this point so I have built up many playlists and to re-create them in Plex is not something i would consider, it would just take too long. I was hoping to get rid of iTunes and start using Plex for music, so that i can access my music remotely, but I really need to get my iTunes playlists imported before I can make the switch. I'm sure i read recently that plex removed this feature altogether but it is still showing as an option on my server. I have been trying to import my iTunes playlists to plex but i have had no luck, and wanted to ask if anyone here has been able to get this feature to work in recent versions.
